An evening to celebrate the resilience of Palestinian Community Leader Rasmea Odeh and raise funds for her legal defense fund on March 13, 2015. The DC Palestinian Film & Arts Festival will screen “Women in Struggle” a remarkable and powerful film by Buthina Canaan Khoury that chronicles the struggles of Palestinian women imprisoned by Israel. The screening will be followed by our Dance for Freedom, an evening to share music and art.

**All Proceeds Will Go Directly to Rasmea’s Legal Defense Fund**

As a community leader from Chicago, Rasmea Odeh has been has been at the forefront of Palestinian activism for decades. She was indicted in October for allegedly falsifying information on her immigration application in support of her US citizenship. The attack on Rasmea was made based on information obtained through torture at the hands of Israel nearly 20 years ago. Although the prosecutor was allowed to present Israeli evidence, Rasmea’s defense team was prohibited from entering any evidence in her defense from that time. After an unfair trial, the court found her guilty of the charges.

After almost a month in solitary confinement, Rasmea was released on a $50,000 cash bond to return for sentencing March 12. Her struggle is not over and her DC community would like to show our support by fundraising for her legal defense team.

So come out and share an evening dedicated to the celebration of a culture of resilience and strength in the face of injustice.
